To help Kern grow in the education and science sectors, we would make the dry topic of precision weighing globally newsworthy by holding what all scientists love – an experiment. One that demonstrates the prowess of Kern scales.

An experiment could easily have failed to generate publicity. So we used a twist on the travelling gnome prank to prove a fascinating, little-known theory about Earth’s gravity. The story charmed journalists, scientists and teachers around the world.
